Give me all the hydration!

Hey everyone! I wanted to share some of the skincare I’m using and LOVING at the moment. Winter and cold weather is in full force here in Scotland but around November I started feeling like the skincare I was using was not helping me at all and my face felt completely horrible, with dry patches and desperate for some hydration!

I know that drinking water is a must for hydrated and glowy skin but I also wanted to try some products and I wanted to share the ones that worked for me.

Botanics Hydration Burst Dual Action Cleanser

I ran out of the cleanser I was using so decided to pick this one up from boots as the name was really appealing and claimed it was good for dehydrated and sensitive skin which is how my skin was feeling and I have always heard really good things about Botanics as a brand. The plant that this cleanser has is clary sage which is good for rejuvenation and calming the skin.

This is a dual action cleanser which comes out as a gel and once it gets into contact with warm water it becomes a hydrating milk that honestly leaves your skin feeling sooo soft, no feeling of tightness whatsoever and the smell is amazing! It completely brings back the hydration and softness to your skin and it’s so nice to use this at the end of the day. The gel goes a long way so you need only the smallest bit,  I cannot recommend this enough for the colder months. Next time you are at boots you could pick it up or you can order it online here.

Nip+Fab Dragons Blood Fix Plumping Serum

I have been wanting to get a serum for the longest time so I thought I would try this one from nip+fab, I also wanted to try this brand because everyone raves about their products. This serum is also perfect for that extra hydration our skin needs in the winter, as it contains hyaluronic acid which gives intense hydration back to the skin. I love it because it’s so lightweight and not sticky at all and it sinks into your skin really fast.

I have been using this product for over a month every day before my moisturiser and let me tell you, I have seen such a difference in my skin.. it feels plumper and the dry patches are completely gone. My foundation has been looking better and smoother since I started using this one! I love it! I will definitely be repurchasing this one as it has become a staple in my routine.

You can get this one at Superdrug and Boots but get it on Asos and use that 10% off if you have student discount!

L’Oreal Paris Hydra Genius Moisturiser

As a lot of you may know this product has been all over social media and blogs and every review has been amazing so I was really curious and decided to test it for myself. This is the newest moisturiser from L’Oreal and the secret behind it being perfect for hydration is because it has aloe water and hyaluronic acid. Aloe vera is very hydrating as it helps maintain the skin’s water reserves, hyaluronic acid is amazing as it replenishes moisture to our skin and makes the skin look plumper.

I use this moisturiser right after using my serum and let me tell you everyone was so right! the claims for this product are that it is a lightweight, fresh and a non-greasy/sticky formula and it really is. I sometimes find that heavy moisturisers don’t agree with my skin as when I put my foundation on it doesn’t look nice but with this one you feel instant freshness, it smells so nice and after a few days you can feel the skin plumper and the dryness is gone. I love it as it doesn’t take too long for the skin to absorb which is something that I don’t like in moisturisers so this is perfect for me.

I was very impressed with this product and I absolutely love it, if you try any product that I’m talking about it needs to be this one for sure! oh and don’t forget to moisturise your neck as well as sometimes people forget the neck needs hydration and that is where signs of ageing tend to show first!

Soap & Glory Hand Food Hand Cream

Soap & glory have loads of really good products but this hand cream has to be one of my favourite things they have. With this cream, a little goes a long way and I find it not to be super greasy as other hand creams are which as I mentioned before something really off-putting is when moisturising products are so greasy they take ages to absorb and you stay with greasy hands all day. It also smells so nice and my hands feel very smooth after using it.

Blistex Relief Cream

This one is by far the best cream for chapped and/or cracked lips I have tried! I know it says for cold sore but I don’t really use it for that. You just need to use a little bit and leave it on your lips overnight and the next day you can literally feel your lips so plump and hydrated. This product is a holy grail for me and the best thing I have used for my lips.

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion

Mario Badescu is a very famous skin care brand that everyone loves. I’m fortunate enough that I dont really have a lot of pimples or get bad acne but once in a while I do get a spot here and there and this drying lotion is the best thing that helps me with them. It has calamine which soothes the skin around it so this won’t irritate your skin like some other acne treatments that can be very harsh. The main ingredient is salicylic acid that helps to get rid of the spots. My skin responds very good to anything that has salicylic acid so this decreases my spots so fast overnight.

The way you are supposed to use it is by dabbing the pink solution onto the blemishes with a clean Q-tip and leave it overnight. It’s honestly the best thing I have found that works for blemishes, the only con that I can think of is that it can get a bit messy sometimes but I don’t really mind it that much. You can get it online on beauty bay.

So those are the products I swear by and that have been working wonders on my skin all Autumn and Winter. Have you ever tried any of these? Let me know what other hydrating products you recommend as you can never be too hydrated, am I right?

Thank you for reading me! until next time!
